According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.63 square miles (4.22km2), of which 1.35 square miles (3.50km2) is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,638 people, 760 households, and 454 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,213.3 inhabitants per square mile (468.5/km2). There were 882 housing units at an average density of 653.3 per square mile (252.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 96.2% White, 1.8% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.9% of the population.
