What is Occupational Health

Occupational health is a field of healthcare involving multiple fields dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace, with a strong focus on injury prevention and education. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,849 people, 693 households, and 553 families residing in the town. The population density was 63.7 people per square mile (24.6/km²). There were 721 housing units at an average density of 24.8 per square mile (9.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.65% White, 0.54% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 0.11% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.

There were 693 households out of which 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.7% were married couples living together, 3.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.1% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 2.97.
