As of the census of 2000, there were 591 people, 224 households, and 172 families residing in the town. The population density was 16.8 people per square mile (6.5/km). There were 271 housing units at an average density of 7.7 per square mile (3.0/km). The racial makeup of the town was 92.55% White, 3.89% Native American, 0.85% Asian, 0.17% from other races, and 2.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.02% of the population.
