What is Occupational Health

Occupational health is a field of healthcare involving multiple fields dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace, with a strong focus on injury prevention and education. Applewold is bordered by the borough of West Kittanning to the west, and the borough of Kittanning lies directly across the Allegheny River to the east.

As of the census of 2000, there were 356 people, 143 households, and 76 families residing in the borough. The population density was 7,302.3 people per square mile (2,749.0/km²). There were 160 housing units at an average density of 3,281.9 per square mile (1,235.5/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 100.00% White.

There were 143 households, out of which 23.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 38.5% were married couples living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.2% were non-families. 37.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.86.
