Occupational health is a field of healthcare involving multiple fields dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace, with a strong focus on injury prevention and education. There were 542 housing units at an average density of 821.2 per square mile (317.1/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.2% White, 0.5% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.5% of the population.
There were 503 households of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.7% were married couples living together, 14.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 32.0% were non-families. 26.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.12.
The median age in the village was 36.3 years. 27.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 26.3% were from 25 to 44; 25.4% were from 45 to 64; and 13.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 47.1% male and 52.9% female.
