The Tigers finished the 201718 season with a record of 268, 135 in SEC play to earn a share of the SEC regular season championship. As the top seed in the SEC Tournament, they fell to Alabama in the quarterfinals of the tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region. There, the Tigers earned a victory over the College of Charleston in the first round before being defeated by Clemson in the second round.
