What is Occupational Health

Occupational health is a field of healthcare involving multiple fields dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace, with a strong focus on injury prevention and education. Ayr had its start in the year 1878 by the building of the railroad through the territory. It was named for Doctor Ayr, a railroad official. Ayr was incorporated as a village in 1883.

As of the census of 2010, there were 94 people, 35 households, and 26 families residing in the village. The population density was 522.2 inhabitants per square mile (201.6/km2). There were 36 housing units at an average density of 200.0 per square mile (77.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White.

There were 35 households of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.7% were married couples living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.7% were non-families. 22.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.15.
