What is Occupational Health

Occupational health is a field of healthcare involving multiple fields dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace, with a strong focus on injury prevention and education. There were 302 housing units at an average density of 430.8 per square mile (166.6/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 67.91% White, 22.84% African American, 7.46% from other races, and 1.79% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.75% of the population.

There were 274 households out of which 26.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% were married couples living together, 10.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.98.

In the town, the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.2 males.
